Krishan Signs On

We are delighted to announce the signing of Krishan Wijesuriyaarachchi as our new professional for the 2021 Ribblesdale League Season.

Krishan is a 22 year old Sri Lankan explosive top order batsman/wicket keeper who also bowls right arm off spin.

A schoolboy prodigy, Krishan is a former Sri Lankan Under-19 star who enjoyed a barnstorming 2019/20 Premier Tier A Tournament, hitting 383 runs at 47.87.

Playing for the star-studded Sinhalese Sports Club in a squad that features numerous internationals the talented youngster impressed as he started to convert the promise that saw him represent Sri Lanka Under-19s on 18 occasions including the ICC World Cup in New Zealand (January 2018) alongside former professional Ashen Bandara.

Krishan enjoyed a glittering school and age-group representative career. He dominated the Under-19 Division 1 run charts, hitting 6 centuries, including a double (253) amongst 2,398 runs at 36.33.

In total he has played 16 First Class matches and has scored 785 runs at an average of 35.68 with a top score of 92.

We look forward to welcoming Krishan to the Applegarth later on in the year subject to covid restrictions easing.

We'd like to thank Steven Hirst at cricx.com for all his help in getting the signing of Krishan completed.
